Materials for application to the Facilitator Training Program should be submitted to one of the co-directors - Nan Cochran, MD, or Auguste Fortin, MD, MPH - at least two weeks prior to the FDC meeting that will include consideration of your application. The FDC generally meets monthly. You will be notified as to the results of that meeting within two weeks. If accepted, you will receive any feedback from the committee about your application, as well as a letter of agreement to sign (Appendix VII) and a list of available guides to choose from if you have not already done so. If not accepted, you will be given recommendations for additions or revisions to your application and an invitation to resubmit your application. Tuition:You will receive your first tuition invoice at the time you are notified about your guide, pro-rated according to a calendar year. The cost of tuition for the FIT Program is $1500 per year, with a cap of $5000. However, you should also plan each year for the costs of the Winter Training Course and the National Course, with related travel expenses. An estimate of yearly expenses would be roughly $4500 per year for level one, and $4000 per year for level two. Appendix VII, Appendix VIII, and Appendix IX provide more information about the terms relevant to tuition payment.
