Laura Cooley, MA, PhD, has recently been awarded her
doctorate in Communication Studies, with an emphasis on Health Communication,
from Bowling Green State University. Laura joined AACH in March 2011 as
Education Coordinator. Her dissertation, "Patient-Centered Care and Mindfulness
in Hospice Volunteer Communication Experiences, explored the training and
experiences of hospice volunteers, and built on her past research in the areas
of assisted living facilities and provider-patient communication.
