The Patient Experiences column includes stories illustrating various aspects of patient experiences. Essays or poems will be reviewed by a selection committee and approved on the basis of the following criteria: - Describe an experience from a patient perspective.
- Advance the understanding of the patient-physician relationship.
- Provide creative insight or illumination about an experience.
- Raise issues in a compelling or controversial way.
